TURN IT UP!
I listened to these songs often to inspire the right mood while writing MindCRAFT and they were an essential part of my creative process. I hope you enjoy them too! I don't want to be too spoiler-y in my explanations for each selection, but suffice it to say that after you’ve read MindCRAFT, you’ll understand even more why I picked the music I did for this list. Also, I arrange my playlist so that the songs/their meaning follow the story arc of the book.
I love some of all genres of music, depending on my mood, but am very selective in my choices for my writing inspiration. Music creates the feelings and emotions within myself, that helps me to capture my thoughts. I knew the moment I heard Ross Bugden's "Last Dawn", it was going to be the theme song for MindCRAFT Official Trailer Video.

It's powerful, and the drum beats created feelings of heartbeats within me, creating an ambience of breathing life back into the empty, reminding me of a cleansing and renewal for life.
2) Of Monsters And Men - Your Bones: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXUloVYbchg
When you battle with letting go and holding on to your heart, you try to determine when to say good-bye and when to hold on to the parts of you that can make you whole, Of Monsters And Men - Your Bones helps my mind, thoughts and emotions come to a place of peace.
3) Swedish House Mafia - Save The World: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXpdmKELE1k
I had ruminating thoughts and feelings, making me wonder who's going to save the world, especially the broken and forgotten when listening to Swedish House Mafia - Save The World, similar to the thoughts I had when I was trying to find a way to help lessen the suffering and pain of foster children as a therapeutic foster parent. It compelled me to turn up what really matters, I turned up the love.
